We Serve

If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one. ~Mother Teresa

Pastoral Home Care

St. Edmund of Canterbury Pastoral Home Care is a response to the Gospel of Matthew 25, to visit the sick and to meet Christ in that encounter. Pastoral home care volunteers visit anyone who is lonely, elderly, sick or home bound, and offer a listening ear, spiritual accompaniment and a community connection. The Archdiocese of Montreal offers a basic training program as well as ongoing formation to all volunteers.

Social Action

The Social Action Committee, through contributions from parishioners and others, helps to support areas in need in our community.

Disbursements include Christmas donations to numerous organizations, help for summer camps and yearly donations to community resources such as food banks, Nazareth House, Benedict Labre, L'Arche Montreal, Chez Doris, Amcal and many others. A yearly financial report is available for more details.

Volunteer involvement need not be ongoing, but could be once or twice a year, depending on your availability.

Social Justice

The Social Justice committee brings attention to the ongoing justice causes supported by the Archdiocese of Montreal and develops programs such as the multi-year Twin Parish project, and more recently, fundraising to aid Syrian refugees.

The committee also focuses its attention on the seasonal campaigns developed by Development and Peace supporting the poor and disadvantaged in the Global South.

Toy Sale

Our annual Gently Used Toy Sale is a call to action for our parish community to support and serve children locally and globally.
